HOUSTON, TX— As a destination occupation, the field of diversity and inclusion offers tremendous opportunities for a variety of professionals in every industry. In our increasingly global environment, understanding the value of diversity and inclusion, and being able to translate that knowledge into a demonstrable ROI, is paramount to both employee and organizational success. Based on demand from its nationwide network of partners, the National Diversity Council is pleased to announce the launch of the DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program to be held November 16-20 in Houston.

The National Diversity Council, a nonprofit organization, seeks to foster an inclusive workplace environment that maximizes innovation and success. Part of the council’s mission is to offer diversity and inclusion training to professionals in all industries.

“The DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program will prepare professionals to establish organizational standards of excellence consistent with the best practices in today’s global marketplace,” said Dennis Kennedy, founder and CEO of the National Diversity Council. “Our program is unique in that it offers ongoing professional development with its graduate network component.”

With a highly qualified team of facilitators, the DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program blends theory and practice during a 5-day intensive curriculum focusing on the business case for diversity and inclusion, cultural competence, measurement and accountability, diversity leadership, and best practices. Ongoing professional development follows through the online graduate network. Graduates of the program are recognized as a National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional (NDCCDP).

"The DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program will connect thought leaders across industries and provide best-in-class leadership practices for immediate application,” said Rodney Morris, Senior Vice President of The Elliot Group and member of the NDC Board of Directors. “Building cultural competence for your organization will be a decisive advantage in the marketplace."
