The Texas Diversity Council hosted their Inaugural Corpus Christi Women in Leadership Symposium at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi on July 17th, 2013. The half-day event brought together a panel of female executives, who shared their success stories in regards to climbing the "corporate ladder" with a diverse audience of professional women. The theme of this year's symposium was "Women of Influence: Leading with Courage and Conviction."

"We have brought our Women In Leadership Symposium to Corpus Christi in order to give women across all industries a chance to grow in their knowledge of leadership and career advancement techniques", said Dennis Kennedy, CEO and Founder of the Texas Diversity Council.

The event opened with a period where the attendees could network with each other, allowing some of Texas' business elite to make invaluable cross-industry contacts. The symposium began immediately following the networking session. Topics addressed by the panelists included "Beyond the Box-Letting Go of Preconceived Barriers and Fears," "Giving and Receiving-Supporting One Another in Both Directions," "How Women can Leverage Power in the Workplace", "Doing Business in Heels: Making the Workplace a Place of Our Own", and "Looking Ahead: Leaders of the Next Generation." The discussions allowed attendees to gather a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise from top female executives, who shared the personal and professional challenges they faced in their careers.
The Texas Diversity Council would like to thank the sponsors and panelists for helping to make the Inaugural Corpus Christi Women in Leadership Symposium a rousing success.
