Professionals Gather for the 4th Annual Fort Worth Women in Leadership Symposium

The Texas Diversity Council held its 4th Annual Women in Leadership Symposium in Fort Worth, TX on Friday, September 14, 2012, at Texas Christian University. A diverse group of women leaders from numerous organizations around the Fort Worth area gathered to address topics relevant to women in leadership. This year's symposium presented the theme of "Women Leaders as Architects of Change."

"This year's symposium created an opportunity for the attendees to gain insight from female executives who focused on topics that are pertinent to women leaders in today's society," said Dennis Kennedy, Founder and CEO of National Diversity Council.

The half-day event opened with breakfast and a networking session. Organizations and businesses were given the opportunity to set up booths where they could share information about their work with the attendees. This opening session of meet-and-greet was held in effort to create connections and contacts, establish a network of fellow business leaders, and foster a sense of community and support amongst the various professions that were represented.

Following the networking session, the symposium began. A variety of successful and influential women from some of the top companies in Fort Worth composed a panel created to discuss topics related to women leaders' success in the workforce today. Topics included "Becoming a Person of Influence", "Personal Branding: Accessorizing Your Assets", "The ‘M' Factor in Mentoring for Leadership and Success", "I'm a Woman, I'm invincible...And I'm exhausted! (Work Life Balance)", "Cross-Cultural Leadership: Women Building the Racial Divide", and "Own Your Finances, Own your Life."

The Texas Diversity Council would like to thank all of its speakers, sponsors, and attendees for helping make this year's symposium a success.
