Paola Álvarez-Malo is the Assistant Vice President of Strategic and Business Planning at Texas Children’s Hospital. She joined Texas Children’s in 2009 after eight years in strategic and business planning in the Energy industry. During her time at TCH, she has led organization-wide efforts in Strategic Planning and Business Process Transformation. Specifically, Paola has contributed to the upcoming expansions of Texas Children’s Hospital - The Woodlands and the high acuity clinical services in the Texas Medical Center to meet the demand of the growing Houston population. Her current focus includes developing the Commercialization and Innovation Office at Texas Children’s in order to identify creative solutions to meet the needs of the hospital’s patients, both present and future. Paola has an undergraduate degree from Stanford University and a Master’s of Science from Boston University. Paola is active in various community-based parent organizations as well and is a volunteer with the Stanford Alumni network and the Houston Area Women’s Center.
