Disability Summit

The Disability Summit will provide a forum to discuss challenges and opportunities facing the disability community of Texas. The year’s theme is Inclusion: Is disability part of your diversity equation? We will focus on how to attract a diverse workforce, best practices, and internship programs for high school students. Unlike other traditionally underrepresented groups, this disability population is one of the most undervalued and misunderstood. The unemployment rate among people with disabilities as of Jan 2011 is 13.5% with close to 900K looking for work.

We are inspired by the work of the Texas Diversity Council and its goal to promote diversity in the workforce and the community. We invite you to join us at this year’s Texas disABILITY Summit as we engage in a constructive dialogue to continue to promote a diversity workforce and eliminate barriers to full inclusion.
