In recent years, it has been noted that issues facing women of color often differ from issues facing Anglo women. As of 2004, Texas joined Hawaii, New Mexico, and California as a majority-minority state, along with the District of Columbia. Hence, the challenges and concerns of women of color need to be addressed now more than ever.

The First Annual Texas Women of Color Summit will feature speakers sharing hope in a safe and healthy environment where women can come together to discuss difficult issues and future concerns facing women by “Just SIP’PIN?” (Strategies that help women Implement and improve Personal, Professional and Intellectual Networks).
