Best Practices Session Topic: Workplace Bias
Overt expressions of prejudice are the easiest to spot and deal with in a corporate environment. Unfortunately, they are usually the most superficial manifestations of our attitudes. In this session, we aim to explore the various ways in which personal biases influence our interactions with others and ultimately impact the performance of the organization. Through open dialogue about these issues, we can bring to light some of the hidden barriers that stand between us and our goals of total inclusion in the work place and work to resolve them
Best Practices Session Topic: Generational Workforce
Never before have we seen four such distinct generations to manage in the same workplace. How do you manage the differences? Brian Shumaker is the General Manager of Jobing.com who will share insights, ideas, and the secrets of managing generational differences within the workplace. This session will encompass the following talking points and concepts to give each attendee a better understanding on how we can embrace this challenge, and maximize performance with each generation by different methods. By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Understand the differences and similarities between the generations
- Provide employees with what they want/need in work
- Appreciate each generations workplace beliefs, preferences, and priorities
- Connect with employees regardless of their generation categorization
- Motivate and retain employees without breaking into the budget
